We are Eleonora and Rossella, two Sicilian architects and our path started in Siracusa where we attended the Faculty of Architecture. After our graduation each of us had the chance to enlarge her own knowledge and to strengthen the vision about architecture and its representation thanks to different work experiences in Spanish cities such as Barcellona, Granada and Alicante where each of us had the chance to work with architectural and landscape studios.
Once we met again in Sicily, after having worked together in several urban redevelopment projects, we decided to combine our skills that we have acquired through the years.
Since April 2020 we are coworkers in Studio Talea that is a four-hands project that deals with graphic illustration as well as collage and design from the urban and territorial scale to the residential interior.
The word “Talēa” -the fragment of a plant that has been specially cut and placed in the soil to let the missing parts to regenerate-represents the hope of giving life to new things like a branch destined to take root.
Each of our illustrations is a story where architecture is the main character but it is also the scenes of the narrative. The spaces, that we usually choose, are realized projects or existing places, important architectures as well as abandoned architectures that tell a story or represent an emotion.
