The capital city is strategically located and has many specialized health facilities, which serve the city population as well as that of the region, and in many respects the country as a whole.
As per available statistics, there are 23 types of health writs (facilities) in Delhi. The total numbers of health units are 1914 and the number of beds is 30,667. 'The existing bed density per thousand population in Delhi works out to only 2.2.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has recommended a norm of 5 beds per thousand population. It is estimated that the total number of beds required in the year 2021 will be about 1.15,000.
DESIGN INTENT:
To understand context and derive concepts for the design.
To understand the concept of circulation, movement and functional zones in a Health centre.
To understand role of natural and artificial lighting & Ventilation in a Health care facility.
To Design Centre in such a way that it merges with surroundings but still holds importance as a public building.
OBJECTIVES:
To design, develop the proper structure of Health Centre.
To learn designing reasonably complex and large building.
To dedicate specific areas for various functions of a Health Facility.
SCOPE & LIMITATIONS:
Design will have facilities for both In patient and Out Patient
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
1. ADMIN ZONE
(offices, store)
2. OUT PATIENT DEPARTMENT
(Clinics, Pharmacy)
3. EMERGENGY DEPARTMENT
(Emergency Ward , Minor OT, Plaster room, Doctor's Room)
4. IN PATIENT DEPARTMENT
(Wards, Private Rooms , Isolation Rooms)
5. DIAGNOSTIC ZONE
(Laboratory, X-ray, ECG )
6. CRITICAL CARE ZONE
(Labor Room, Nursery , OT)
7. RESIDENTIAL ZONE
(Quarters for Doctors, Staff , ward boys , Drivers )
