BERLIN BOHEMIAN HOSTEL

The hostel is conceived as a large scale building immersed in a park.

Its shape is generated by principal axes of the context and recreates the block facade with the historical “Kunsthaus Tacheles”.

The base holds the main public circulation and places where Bohemians can nurture their interests in music, art and literature; the co-living spaces want to become a strong point of reference not only for travelers and artists but also for local and general public.

Its rooftop takes the shape of a platform open to the sky and to the view of the park and the city; It is perforated by a series of courtyards to give illumination and ventilation to the base.

A staircase, in a central position, connects the indoor common space with the outside platform, generating an open amphitheater.

Four differents towers define the room blocks, with different rooms typology for 4 to 8 people.

The ground floor is designed with large glass windows and steel blades; the room towers are made by concrete and wood for the holes and loggias.

We want our building to be an important landmark for the district and for the innovative city of Berlin; a portal where people can connect and collaborate.

We want to design a hostel for unconventional people.
